Sex Ed in 2 steps:

I was taught about (and put on) birth control at 15. It was to regulate my period, but even if it was because I wanted to be sexually active, no one had to know that. I had a medically valid reason to be on the pill as far as my Dad (and everyone at school) knew. My Mom and I were very open so she knew I wasn’t active, and wasn’t even interested in being, so she backed things up with him.

I also learned where to get and how to operate a condom, despite my lack of a penis. Ladies—be responsible for yourself! He should have one, but let’s get real…if you can’t expect a guy to call you or empty the garbage without being asked, can you really expect him to carry prophylactics? Keep a couple in your purse, your car, wherever you feel like you have to hide them. Just protect yourself!

Having SAFE sex is ok. Abstinence is ok, too. Just don’t go pushing your choices onto other people. Do what’s right for you.

Slut shaming Serena Williams

Williams put up the picture of herself standing in high heels and wearing nothing more than matching undergarments on Thursday afternoon. She took it down hours later, but not before the criticism began.

“Someone must have gotten to her and suggested something about common sense and hypocrisy,” wrote Greg Couch of The Sporting News.

He’s referring to the recent arrest of a Florida man accused of stalking the tennis star. The 40-year-old man was arrested last week on the grounds of Williams’ Palm Beach estate. One month earlier, Williams took out an injunction against the man, who used her Twitter updates to stalk her in various locations, including in the dressing room of a television studio. Couch doesn’t say so directly, but he’s basically suggesting that Serena putting up a voyeuristic photo of herself in a bra and panties emboldens stalkers.

Fuck every single person that thinks this way. They did the same thing to Erin Andrews and the costumes she wore on DWTS. 

Stalkers stalk no matter what you fucking wear. Why are we expected to change everything WE do to not appear like we’re ‘asking for it’. FFS.

i had a similar situation where this happened except the kid was being homophobic. i couldn’t get him to comprehend how contradictory everything he was saying was. i ended up just having to delete him. it’s for the best.
