Team Dar Dar Dar Welcomes you!
Dear Friends and Family,
I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide to walk in AFSP’s Louisville Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this cause that has affected us all so deeply.
9 years ago this October I lost my big brother, Dennis Greene to a horrendous disease.
We all lost a fantastic person to a horrible and TREATABLE disease.
He was our brother, son, father, uncle, cousin, friend and so much more to so many more.
He was DAR DAR DAR!!!!!
Please come out and walk with me or consider donating a few dollars to the cause!
(All donations are 100% tax deductible)
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 33,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP’s mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click my name at the bottom of this page.
Thank you and I appreciate every single one of you <3

Odin’s beard — why would you want such a thing, Greyface?
That is … that is conceding defeat!
This life is but an endless battle, you see! It is forever attempting to mock you, to best you; battle after battle, it is a vicious cycle. But you must not let it triumph over you! I know you are braver than that — I know that you have the capability to be the strongest warrior Midgard has ever seen!
When all seems lost, always remember to scrape yourself from the unforgiving earth and remind Life that it shall not be victorious. Not while there is air in your lungs, and blood ever-coursing through your veins!
And, Greyface — never forget that you always have a friend and ally in myself. That is essential, in this battle. Allies. One cannot win a war alone.
And you have one in me. I swear it to you.
“I got a fan letter from a young lady. It was a suicide note.So I called her, and I said, “Hey, this is Jimmy Doohan. Scotty, from Star Trek.” I said, “I’m doing a convention in Indianapolis. I wanna see you there.”
I saw her — boy, I’m telling you, I couldn’t believe what I saw. It was definitely suicide. Somebody had to help her, somehow. And obviously she wasn’t going to the right people.
I said to her, “I’m doing a convention two weeks from now in St. Louis.” And two weeks from then, in somewhere else, you know? She also came to New York - she was able to afford to got to these places. That went on for two or three years, maybe eighteen times. And all I did was talk positive things to her.
And then all of the sudden — nothing. I didn’t hear anything. I had no idea what had happened to her because I never really saved her address.
Eight years later, I get a letter saying, “I do want to thank you so much for what you did for me, because I just got my Master’s degree in electronic engineering.”
That’s…to me, the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.”
If you don’t love Jimmy Doohan, then there is something seriously wrong with your head.
All my creys.

I would wake up from the best sex of my life only to find people I used to call a friend talking shit on Facebook about how “selfish” suicide is.
I’m going to post my rant here so that anyone who’s curious how I feel about the matter can be ~in the know~
If you made a post today about how “selfish” suicide is, you cannot be my friend, here on Facebook or in “real life.”
You are obviously blessed enough to not know what it’s like to wake up each day hoping to die at someone else’s hands, or by some freak accident, or via a health emergency, simply so you don’t have to do the deed yourself.
You have never lived a life that you wished would end every second, simply so the pain would end, and you have NO RIGHT to say such despicable things about a) another human being, b) a mentally ill person, c) a complete stranger whose character you have NO insight into.
Seriously, if you think “selfish” is in any way an accurate way to describe taking one’s life, please Unfollow me now and do me the courtesy of not engaging my Ask ever. We cannot be friends. Period.
It’s really hard not to take shit like that personally, ya know?
Like…
…now I know, if I killed myself tomorrow, exactly what quite a few people in my life would think.
They wouldn’t have compassion, or sympathy, or even pity.
They’d call me selfish.
They’d vilify me.
…
And for today, my knowing that is good, because it makes me want to LIVE.
The pejorative, disrespectful, and ignorant statements that we are assaulted with concerning suicide angels are in abundance…and are disquieting to cope with on a daily basis.
You’ve heard them many times, statements about suicide being “a sin,” “a crime,” “an act of self-murder,” etc. Well, let me address one more ignorant statement – that suicide is a “selfish” act.
WRONG.
Suicide is a desperate act by someone who is in intense pain and wants their pain to stop. That is a HUMAN response to extreme pain, not a selfish one. And over 90 percent of the people who die by suicide have a mental illness at the time of their death, so they are not thinking clearly.
Saying that a person who had severe clinical depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, or a similar illness was engaging in an act of selfishness when they died by suicide – even though their thought process, mood, and judgment were greatly affected by their mental illness – is not only inaccurate, but downright cruel, to both the suicide angel and the suicide survivors.
And those who use the word “selfish” are merely helping perpetuate the STIGMA associated with suicide.
A suicidal action that manifests from intense, excruciating, unbearable pain associated with a serious mental illness has nothing to do with selfishness. Period.
jinxasaurus replied to your post: shaking with rage how fucking dare you I hate…
:( … <3?
As quickly as I can tell it, the story is, a young man I went to school with killed himself this weekend. A “friend” on Facebook posted something along the lines of “I don’t understand why people take their own life” and I explained that the many times I tried it was because I a) wanted to end my pain and b) wanted to stop being a burden on those I love.
A friend of hers went on and on about how selfish suicide is, despite my linking her to that SUICIDE IS NOT SELFISH post. I went on to talk about depression, to which she replied “I had depression and it took a lot of prayer but I pulled myself out of it.” Before I could reply all of my comments were erased, so I posted one last “fuck y’all, I’m out” vibed comment and Unfriended the one of them I had very recently added to not only my Friend list, but also the 10 year reunion after party event.
There is no way I’m letting someone who literally erases my lived experience in lieu of personal comfort into my motherfucking house.
